OCLS
RNBS Orientation
An essential skill as
you pursue your degree at IWU is the ability to locate and
obtain high-quality information. It can be as arduous as
climbing a mountain and if you don't stay on the path you can
certainly get lost. Knowing what tools to use to help you
along the way will help you to conquer the heights of
research!
The following resources will introduce you
to the process of researching quality, nursing specific books,
journal articles and other types of information. In addition,
you'll learn how to efficiently access and navigate several
key computer databases.
Workshop Three
for NUR320
View recorded session to get a general overview of the Off
Campus Library Services (OCLS) web site. You will be using it
a lot as you begin your journey towards your degree. Make sure
that you have your 14-digit library access number available.
You should have received it via email to your university email
account. If you do not have it, please request it from that
address by going to the Request Form.
Workshop Four for
NUR320
During this workshop, an OCLS librarian will be joining
you in your Blackboard classroom and will be available to
answer questions and provide new information relating to
library research. These PowerPoints will be helpful as you
begin to navigate the nursing databases.
Workshop Five of
NUR320
In this workshop, you will begin to put together
searching for resources in one of the nursing databases
and taking a citation for an article you found and using APA
writing style to create the Referneces
entry.
