red arrow Data Shelf: Data and Statistics from USA.gov provides information on a wide variety of topics, ranging from business and economics to travel, transportation, and recreation. The portal also includes links to data on the environment, health and nutrition, jobs and education, and other social science areas.
 
red arrow General Social Survey (GSS) collects longitudinal demographic and survey research on Americans’ attitudes, behaviors, and special interests. Research began in 1972 and continues to the present day.
 
red arrow Public Agenda is a nonpartisan “think tank” that publishes information and advocates for more effective and efficient government and makes policy statements on a number of social issues such as climate change, health care, government spending, and education. The site’s Library offers research reports, position papers, and other documents on K-12 and Higher Education, jobs and the economy, immigration, and other concerns.

The institute’s Simulation Models and Data Tools and Latest Research web pages provide real-world study tools and freely available data-driven research.
 
red arrow World Bank Open Knowledge Repository (OKR) contains over 17,000 open access documents related to economic, global, and national development. OKR resources include World Bank Annual Reports, World Bank Independent Evaluation Studies, journal articles, working papers, country opinion surveys, and other research.

Criminal Justice

red arrow Bureau of Justice Statistics is a storehouse of statistical information that includes the National Crime Victimization Survey, a Prisoner Recidivism Analysis Tool, and related data for US Federal and Native American law enforcement concerns. The site’s Publications and Products page provides data, press releases, and reports on Corrections, court systems, crime, law enforcement, and victims.
 
red arrow Community Resources for Justice blends information on community-wide programs, criminal justice research and policy recommendations, and social justice efforts. The Crime and Justice Institute’s Jail Population Policy Impact Tool and Trainings & Assessments may be of interest to students.
 
red arrow Criminal Justice Resources at the American Bar Association website include quarterly summaries of cases decided by federal circuit courts; an annual review of Supreme Court decisions; racial justice resources; ways to limit or eliminate global corruption; jury selection; and more.
 
red arrow Criminal Justice Resources from the NAACP include a Racial Profiling Curriculum and resources and information on civil rights. The site also includes a digital toolkit and reports focusing on education, re-entry into society, wrongful convictions, and immigration. Statistics originate from the Department of Justice, Bureau of Justice Statistics. The site also includes recent trends and updates, newsworthy criminal justice stories, and American’s opinions on current criminal justice issues.
